Sycamore Shelter Reconstruction Project

This project, titled Sycamore Shelter Reconstruction,’ shall include, but is not limited to, all labor, materials, equipment, permits, coordination, testing, and incidental work necessary to reconstruct the historic Sycamore Shelter, located in Bloomington, Indiana at Lower Cascades Park. A large tree fell onto the historic Sycamore Shelter in May 2026, completely destroying the southern section of the structure. The shelter is constructed primarily of Indiana Limestone and is an important historic feature of Bloomington’s first public park.
